From all around the world, several stalwarts have presented treatises on Engineering Mechanics.We too have tried our level best to contribute something to this important and fundamental subjectin the form of this textbook. It is our great pleasure and privilege to do our bit for the benefitof the students’ community, teachers, practicing engineers and other professionals. In fact, theimportance of this subject to engineering students who require a sound knowledge of principlesof engineering mechanics for their advanced engineering courses, inspired us to undertake thisendeavour.Engineering students need a textbook which can provide a sound knowledge of basic principlesand impart skills in problem solving.
