معرفی کتاب «Empire of the Inca (Great Empires of the Past)» نوشتهٔ Barbara Somerville، منتشرشده توسط نشر Facts On File در سال 2004. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

Inca Empire opens with a brief summary of the Inca Empire that provides a sense of the world and the geographic area in the years leading up to the empire. Using accessible and lively prose, this volume explores the history and culture of this fascinating civilization, making history relevant by highlighting the ideas and items that originated in the empire and are still encountered in the modern world, such as potatoes and jerky, words from the Quechua language, and mobile military field hospitals.

Here is the first A-Z encyclopedia to explore the convictions held by many in the modern day world that extraterrestrials, angels, fairy-folk, and other-dimensional intelligences regularly interact with human beings.

Clark (Encyclopedia of Strange & Unexplained Physical Phenomena, Unexplained: Strange Sightings, Incredible Occurrences, and Puzzling Physical Phenomena) is concerned here with experiences--or perceived experiences--of otherworldly forces, as claimed over the past 200 years. Most of the accounts fall far outside conventional notions of what it is possible to experience. Organized alphabetically, the entries are largely devoted to obscure occurrences, and the criterion for inclusion appears to be merely the claim of having seen or experienced some unusual extraterrestrial being or event. There is no evaluation or analysis of the stories related. Clark documents his sources with many suggestions for further reading, which consist of out-of-print works. Libraries with Clark's earlier works need not add this work. Those needing titles in this area would be better served by James Lewis's UFOs and Popular Culture (LJ 11/1/00).--Leroy Hommerding, Fort Myers Beach P.L. The Incas left no written records, but the archaeological remains and Spanish accounts paint a picture of a well-ordered, vast empire where everyone knew their role in society, and no one went hungry or uncared-for. In the mountains of Peru and Ecuador, traces of Inca culture remain today in the road system that winds through the Andes, where people practice a religion that mixes the Catholicism of the Spanish conquerors with the animism of the Incas. Living in small homes and storehouses that date back to Inca times, these people have been celebrating traditional festivals and market days for over 800 years. The book highlights ideas and items that originated in the empire and are still encountered in the modern world, such as potatoes and jerky, words from the Quechua language, and mobile military field hospitals.--From publisher description.
