The textbook is prepared in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of secondary special education of specialty 23.02.06 "Technical operation of railway rolling stock" for basic and advanced training. The theory, operating principle, device and operating modes of electric machines for both general and traction purposes used in TPS are considered. The technology of maintenance of this equipment is given. It is intended for students of technical schools and colleges of railway transport. It can be useful for engineering and technical workers of the locomotive industry, as well as for locomotive and repair crews.
