La ecocrítica asume desde su raíz un compromiso ideológicocon el estudio de la materialidad medioambiental y de la construcción, percepción social y apego individual al lugar.Este volumen, que quiere presentar esta escuela a los lectores de lengua española, se organiza en torno a cuatro objetivos: ofrecer una síntesis de los debates que actualmente ocupan a la ecocrítica; exponer las aportaciones del ecofeminismo en tanto una de las ramas másactivas de la ecocrítica; dar una visión panorámica de la ecocrítica en las literaturas nacionales del mundo hispano, francófono y anglosajón; y escudriñar en las posibilidades que brinda el acercamiento de la ecocrítica a la mitología y a la literatura infantil y juvenil.
