L'opera raccoglie i risultati degli scavi condotti nella necropoli Vaticana, descrivendo nei particolari sia la struttura architettonica dei mausolei che il loro apparato decorativo. Scopo della pubblicazione è analizzare l'evoluzione nella costruzione degli edifici funebri e nel loro utilizzo in quella che è una tipica necropoli di età imperiale. This work collects the results of excavations conducted in the Vatican necropolis, describing in detail both the architecture and the decoration of the mausolea.
