Deviance and Inequality in Japan : Japanese Youth and Foreign Migrants

معرفی کتاب «Deviance and Inequality in Japan : Japanese Youth and Foreign Migrants» نوشتهٔ Robert Stuart Yoder، منتشرشده توسط نشر Bristol University Press در سال 2011. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

Japanese youth and foreign migrants face stringent institutionalised controls in Japan. This book questions the efficacy of such social controls, focusing on the interrelation of inequality (powerlessness, discriminate controls and class inequality) and deviance (largely derived from power and the violation of informal and formal norms). It provides a comprehensive detailed description and explanation of inequality and deviance of Japanese youth and 17 foreign migrant groups. The book is aimed at individuals, students and academicians interested in Japan area studies. Although Japanese working-class youth and foreign workers are quite different segments of the Japanese population, they share one thing in common: both are subjugated under the dominant culture. Author Yoder (psychology and sociology, Japan Branch, Lakeland College, Tokyo) investigates the institutionalized controls faced by youth and foreign workers in Japan, using labeling conflict theory to explain and describe the interrelation of inequality and deviance in discrimination against these groups. The author concludes with suggestions for future research in the study of inequality and deviance in Japan. The audience for the book includes those in Japanese studies. The book is distributed in the US by ISBS. Annotation ©2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com) "Japanese youth and foreign migrants face stringent institutionalised controls in Japan.
