Design of Guyed Electrical Transmission Structures (ASCE MANUAL AND REPORTS ON ENGINEERING PRACTICE)

معرفی کتاب «Design of Guyed Electrical Transmission Structures (ASCE MANUAL AND REPORTS ON ENGINEERING PRACTICE)» نوشتهٔ American Society of Civil Engineers. Subcommittee on Guyed Transmission Structures، منتشرشده توسط نشر American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) در سال 1997. این کتاب در 3 صفحه، فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

Guyed structures are commonly used to support electric transmission lines. They generally have the advantage of lightweight, erection ease, pre-assembly, and simple foundation design. There is a considerable range of applications, from simple guyed wood poles to the very large guyed steel latticed structures. This publication describes the various types of guyed structures that have been used; presents typical guys and fittings; illustrates guy anchors and foundations; explores analysis and design techniques specific to guyed structures; discusses unique construction and maintenance problems; and displays both hand and computer calculations to illustrate some of the concepts discussed in the document. Content: Front Matter • Preface • Table of Contents • 1. Introduction 2. Guyed Structures Configurations 3. Guys and Guy Fittings 4. Guy Anchors and Foundations 5. Analysis 6. Design 7. Construction and Maintenance 8. Examples Appendices Index Until recently, active equipment and building distribution systems that were not part of the building's structure were an afterthought, if considered at all, in earthquake protection measures. Conversely, the designers and manufacturer of such equipment had no thought for its seismic behavior. That is no longer the case. Engineer Gatscher, architect Gary L. McGavin, and industry-government relations professional Philip J. Caldwell examine design perspectives of nonstructural protection in order to push protective measures farther upstream in the product design chain. Their topics include stakeholder commentary, building code seismic requirements, analytical methods, dynamic test methods, and trends in the earthquake protection of nonstructural systems. due To Light Weight, Erection Ease, Pre-assembly, And Simple Foundation Design, Guyed Transmission Structures Offer A Wide Range Of Applications, From Simple Guyed Wood Poles To Very Large Guyed Steel Latticed Structures. This Manual Provides Various Analysis And Design Techniques Applicable To All Guyed Transmission Structures And Covers Guyed Structures Made Of Common Materials Including Reinforced And Prestressed Concrete, Aluminum, Steel, And Wood. The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Various Types Of Guyed Structures Are Presented, With An Emphasis On Typical Guys, Fittings, Guy Anchors, And Foundations. Unique Construction And Maintenance Problems Are Also Covered.

Presents a framework for applying the latest earthquake engineering research to the non-structural elements of individual building projects, concentrating on mechanical and electrical systems. The seismic performance of these systems and their components is critical in order to minimise damage and life-threatening risks associated with seismic events while also protecting capital investment. Guyed structures are commonly used to support electric transmission lines. This publication describes the various types of guyed structures that have been used. It also presents typical guys and fittings, illustrates guy anchors and foundations, and explores analysis and design techniques specific to guyed structures, among the other things. Gatscher, McGavin, and Caldwell present a framework for applying the latest earthquake engineering research to the nonstructural elements of individual building projects, concentrating on mechanical and electrical systems. MOP 91 describes the engineering considerations involved in designing guyed structures to support electric transmission lines.
