معرفی کتاب «Clueless in the Kitchen: A Cookbook for Teens and other Beginners (The Clueless series)» نوشتهٔ Delfina Shelomenseff, Julee Andreoni, Marcia Hensley، منتشرشده توسط نشر Sutter Memorial Hospital در سال 1998. این کتاب در 9 صفحه، فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

Bought this and another even-more-basic cookbook for my teen granddaughter who will be cooking in Europe. Recipes rang from some that only teens love and some that you could serve to your adult dinner guests. The text and illustrations are definitely geared to the younger cook. Basic processes are explained, unlike most cookbooks that assume you already know terms and utensils. It's a good cookbook for the purpose. So why didn't I give it a top-rating? I don't know. Maybe because I'm in my 70's and found the teen stuff a little annoying. There's food in there, but then what? It'll have to be cooked... or at least peeled. Probably both . It's enough to scare even the foolhardy, but then so is a diet of macaroni and cheese. And you can't afford to keep ordering pizza. Aaarghh! Relax! You're not alone. Author Evelyn Raab (mom to two teenage sons) understands that the kitchen is alien territory, and she is going to teach you everything you need to know to produce something deliciously edible out of actual ingredients -- in other words, cook -- and live to tell the tale. Incredibly thorough, never condescending, and with a dash of humor, Clueless in the Kitchen leads culinary neophytes through the entire range of kitchen experience -- from cleaning a stove and outfitting a first kitchen (cheaply), to unplugging a drain and identifying that stuff in the bulk-food bins. Two hundred easy-to-follow recipes show how to make all kinds of simple and scrumptious dishes for every meal and occasion, beginning with " A Cruel Joke" and ending with Snacks and Munchies." There's even a chapter devoted exclusively to the "Vehemently Vegetarian." And there's more! Each recipe is coded with an icon symbolizing vegetarian meals, cheap eats, couch potato, mom, or family food, food to impress, and snacks and munchies. And useful menu planners will help you tailor the perfect meal to every guest, whether that guest is your shallow but fun boy/girlfriend, your aunt Gladys, or (gasp!) your entire family. Whether you're living on your own for the very first time or you're just on your own for dinner, Clueless in the Kitchen will be the first and -- hopefully -- only guide you will ever need. You may never eat macaroni and cheese again! This step-by-step guide for children provides a collection of over 150 recipes for breakfasts, lunches, salads, dinners, snacks, and desserts, with an emphasis on safety and creativity. The first chapter gives information concerning kitchen safety, utensils, term definitions, measuring equivalents, cleanup tips and other useful instructions. The recipes are presented in chapters: (1) "Let's Get Cooking!"; (2) "Breakfast Bonanzas"; (3) "Great Lunches"; (4) "Super Salads"; (5) "Quick Snacks and Easy Extras"; (6) "Soda Fountain Treats"; (7) "Delicious Dinners"; and (8) "Dynamite Desserts." An index is provided. (MM) Taking a basic and humorous approach, a columnist for "Today's Parent" magazine gently leads culinary neophytes through the entire gamut of kitchen experience--from cleaning a stove to outfitting a first kitchen, from boiling an egg to planning an entire meal. Each of the 200 recipes is organized by course and main ingredient, and coded to fit the new cook's requirements. Recipes For Sixty Nutritional Meals, Including Breakfast, Lunch, And Dinner.
