Peripheral muscle dysfunction (e.g. lower-limb weakness) is common in cystic fibrosis (CF) and associated with exercise intolerance (Gruet et al. 2017). On the other side, despite the lung disease history of CF, respiratory muscle strength seems preserved in these patients (Heinzmann-Filho et al. 2012).
