CUL: T-S NS 108.77, a Genizah fragment previously described as consisting of poems by Yehuda Halevi, is shown to be a remnant of a poetic correspondence between Halevi and Aaron Ibn Al-ʿAmmānī, his devoted Alexandrian host, and a poet in his own right. The poem אני צעיר, edited here according to the aforementioned manuscript and an additional Genizah fragment (JTS: ENA 2738.2), is arguably Ibn Al-ʿAmmānī’s first poem dedicated to Halevi, written in response to Halevi’s poem שאו הרים. It is discussed as rare evidence of Ibn Al-ʿAmmānī as a writer of secular poetry and of the lively poetic interaction between Ibn Al-ʿAmmānī and Halevi, his distinguished Andalusian guest, upon the latter’s arrival in Egypt
