معرفی کتاب «عملکرد زیست‌روان‌شناختی: چارچوبی مبتنی بر علم برای مراقبت از سلامت رفتاری» (با عنوان لاتین Biopsychosocial practice : a science-based framework for behavioral health care) نوشتهٔ Timothy P. Melchert، منتشرشده توسط نشر American Psychological Association در سال 2014. این کتاب در 20 صفحه، فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

Throughout the history of mental health practice, conflicting and irreconcilable theories have caused confusion about how disorders form, what they look like, and how they should be assessed and treated. But thanks to dramatic scientific advances in recent years, these patchwork theories can now be replaced by a unified, science-based, biopsychosocial framework for behavioral healthcare. This book presents the essential scientific and ethical foundations of the biopsychosocial framework and then applies it across the treatment process, from intake through outcome assessment. In doing so, the book provides a critical basis for the increasingly integrated healthcare systems of the 21st century. "The four parts of this book lay out a logical approach to conceptualizing behavioral health care. The first part comprises three chapters that address the basic conceptual framework needed to place the profession on firm scientific and ethical foundations. Part II includes three chapters that provide an overview of the psychological, sociocultural, and physical functioning of the American general public, followed by a fourth chapter that provides a developmental perspective. These topics are viewed as necessary background for appropriately applying the biopsychosocial approach to behavioral health care. Knowledge of the biopsychosocial circumstances of the public is critical for a holistic understanding of individuals, conducting thorough assessments, and developing treatment plans and delivering interventions that maximize the likelihood of treatment effectiveness. The topics in Part II are also necessary background for understanding the prevention of behavioral health problems, promoting health and well-being, and effectively interacting with other health care and human service professionals, family members, and others who play important roles in patients' lives. The chapters in Part III describe the implications of applying the scientific and ethical foundations of the biopsychosocial approach to the behavioral health care treatment process. The four chapters in this part of the volume address the four general phases of the treatment process, namely, assessment, treatment planning, implementing treatment, and evaluating its effectiveness. Part IV addresses additional implications of taking a science-based biopsychosocial approach to behavioral health care"--Introduction. But dramatic scientific advances in recent years have shed light on the scientific processes that underlie and connect body and mind. As a result, the patchwork theoretical orientations of the past can now be replaced by a unified, science-based, biopsychosocial framework for understanding human development, functioning, and behavior change. In this book, Timothy Melchert presents a comprehensive biopsychosocial framework for behavioral health care. He lays out the essential scientific and ethical foundations of the framework and then applies it across the treatment process, from intake through outcome assessment. In doing so, Melchert provides a critical basis for the integrated health care systems of the 21st century. This book is appropriate for all mental health practitioners treating all types of patients, at all levels of functioning, in general as well as specialized practice Part I.
