Beyond Free Trade: Alternative Approaches to Trade, Politics and Power (International Political Economy Series)

The world of trade is changing rapidly, from the 'rise of the South' to the growth of unconventional projects like fair trade and carbon trading. Beyond Free Trade advances alternative ways for understanding these new dynamics, based on historical, political, or sociological methods that go beyond the limitations of conventional trade economics. The world of trade policy and trade politics is changing rapidly, reflected in fundamental shifts in global trading patterns and relations of power associated with the 'rise of the South, ' and with the burgeoning array of new trade projects, from fair trade to carbon emissions trading.
