Art and science: A study of Alberti, Piero della Francesca and Giorgione

The XV centrury saw the development of all arts and sciences, not the least of architecture and painting. Some of the most important figure of this epoch were not only artists but also theorists. It is the case of Leon Battista Alberti - as an architect and Piero della Francesca and Giorgione - as painters. The ideas of the three Renaissance great figures are exposed- together with many of their works- regarding new modalities of expression- in order to realise the armony of both the parts of the painting and the whole painting, of both the technical modalities and the transmitted impression.
