Angiogenesis and Vascularisation : Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms in Health and Diseases

معرفی کتاب «Angiogenesis and Vascularisation : Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms in Health and Diseases» نوشتهٔ Józef Dulak, Alicja Józkowicz, Agnieszka Łoboda, editors، منتشرشده توسط نشر Springer-Verlag Wien در سال 2013. این کتاب در فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است.

The book presents the overview of the current knowledge in some fields of vascular biology, addressing cellular and molecular aspects of blood-vessel formation and their role in health and disease. The major factors involved in the formation of blood vessels are presented by scientists actively involved in this area of research. Special emphasis is put on the presentation of various molecular mechanisms not addressed in similar works to date. The book is divided into three parts. The first part describes the cells and mediators in angiogenesis. The significance of various populations of potential endothelial progenitors is particularly highlighted. The chapters of the second part focus on molecular mechanisms, with special emphasis on the role of hypoxia, gasotransmitters and reactive oxygen species as well as microRNAs in regulation of angiogenic processes. In the third part, the pathological aspects of disturbed - aggravated or impaired - vascularization are discussed and new modalities for potential therapies are presented. The book is intended for scientists and PhD students in the fields of vascular biology and cancer research. It may be of interest for medical professionals in the fields of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, oncology and rheumatoid arthritis.-- Source other than Library of Congress Front Matter....Pages i-x Front Matter....Pages 1-1 Endothelial Cell Origin, Differentiation, Heterogeneity and Function....Pages 3-26 Developmental and Pathological Lymphangiogenesis....Pages 27-65 Vascular-Resident Endothelial Side Population Cells....Pages 67-84 Multiple Roles of Proteases in Angiogenesis....Pages 85-99 Serpins in Angiogenesis....Pages 101-118 Front Matter....Pages 119-119 Endothelial Transcriptional Networks in the Control of Angiogenesis: the ETS Factor....Pages 121-143 Insights into Roles of Immediate-Early Genes in Angiogenesis....Pages 145-162 Molecular Mechanisms of Hypoxia-Regulated Angiogenesis....Pages 163-185 MicroRNA Regulation of Angiogenesis....Pages 187-212 Nrf2 Transcription Factor and Heme Oxygenase-1 as Modulators of Vascular Injury and Angiogenesis....Pages 213-239 Metabolism of Methylarginines and Angiogenesis....Pages 241-260 The Vasohibin Family: Novel Regulators of Angiogenesis....Pages 261-267 Front Matter....Pages 269-269 Hypoxia-Induced Pathological Angiogenesis in Zebrafish....Pages 271-291 Tumor Angiogenesis: Fishing for Screening Models....Pages 293-312 Vascular Complications in Diabetes....Pages 313-337 Angiogenesis in Rheumatoid Arthritis....Pages 339-365 Angiogenic Signaling and Structural Abnormalities in Tumors....Pages 367-387 Endothelium in Pathologic Angiogenesis and Angiogenesis-Mediated Therapies....Pages 389-406 Back Matter....Pages 407-416 Józef Dulak, Alicja Józkowicz, Agnieszka Łoboda, Editors.
