Aleksanderia : studies on items, ideas and history : dedicated to Professor Aleksander Bursche on the occasion of his 65th birthday

This Festschrift dedicated to Professor Aleksander Bursche contains forty-five scientific papers written by sixty-three authors, from over a dozen countries. All contributions present both archival works and absolutely new discoveries and studies, and are all richly illustrated. Many papers fill so far existing significant gaps in knowledge. They are dealing with ancient numismatic, archaeology and ancient history touching upon issues related to the Celts, Greek and Romans, Barbarians, affecting the areas of the Classical and Barbarian Worlds. The authors, leading scholars from various academic disciplines, present in this volume exceptional perspectives and research, illustrating potential of various artefacts as a source for the study of economy, trade, social and cultural changes and dynamics.
