Characterization of stem cells from various sources and attempts to demonstrate their potential in normal biological or pathological settings are two of the primary goals of the stem cell biologist. In this multidisciplinary volume, basic and clinical scientists cover both embryonic and adult stem cell sources, the current state of knowledge as well as the challenges that underlie translational medicine applications.
