معرفی کتاب «A Movement Theory of Anaphora (Studies in Generative Grammar [SGG] Book 120)» نوشتهٔ Jun Abe، منتشرشده توسط نشر De Gruyter De Gruyter Mouton در سال 2014. این کتاب در 7 صفحه، فرمت pdf، زبان انگلیسی ارائه شده است. «A Movement Theory of Anaphora (Studies in Generative Grammar [SGG] Book 120)» در دستهٔ بدون دسته‌بندی قرار دارد.

Under the tenet shared by Hornstein and Kayne that rules of construal need to be recaptured by the operation Move, this book aims to construct a movement theory of anaphora according to which anaphoric relations are established through movement of pro. This theory has significant theoretical implications for reconstruction effects and pro-drop phenomena. It has brought binding theory into the realm of the Minimalist Program. It is proposed that apparent insensitivity of these relations to locality conditions is attributed to a repair strategy such as pronouncing the tail of the resulting chain. This theory has significant theoretical implications for reconstruction effects and pro-drop phenomena. It enables us to solve the contradictory properties of reconstruction effects of Binding Conditions A, B and C by reformulating them under the movement theory of anaphora. It lends strong support to a dichotomy a la Hornstein's (1999, 2001) movement theory of control by examining Japanese null arguments: local anaphoric relations are captured by A-movement of pro whereas long-distance relations are mediated by operator movement of pro. This dichotomy is further supported by the dual properties of the Japanese reflexive zibun. This book develops a movement theory of anaphora to such an extent as binding theory is subsumed under the realm of the Minimalist Program. Book jacket The architecture of the human language faculty has been one of the main foci of the linguistic research of the last half century. This branch of linguistics, broadly known as Generative Grammar, is concerned with the formulation of explanatory formal accounts of linguistic phenomena with the ulterior goal of gaining insight into the properties of the 'language organ'. The series comprises high quality monographs and collected volumes that address such issues. The topics in this series range from phonology to semantics, from syntax to information structure, from mathematical linguistics to studies of the lexicon.
