This volume of essays written in the last four years, somehow synthesize the main issues that the author has addressed in her research on what she herself calls "black worlds" in the visual culture of the modern era. A perspective that traverses time, forging an in-depth and comprehensive postcolonial art history. With an airy and original approach, she analyzes the role of resistance of art made by Africans and Africans in the period of enslavement, the racial markings present in crucial works of art history, and also discusses the most classic readings of history and the social sciences on the artistic production of the black worlds.
