Sir Valiant Emberheart is a hero beyond compare, beloved by all for always saving the day and defeating every villain that threatens the world. Nothing has ever caused him trouble, nothing has ever phased him or caused him to doubt himself... Until Now. When a villainous demon kidnaps his bride-to-be, the constantly kidnapped Princess Rita, Valiant endeavours to save her but in doing so, he triggers a world-changing event that reveals to him the truth of his existence. His world does not exist, the people within it do not exist, he does not exist. It is all a video game, and he is its main character. This revelation changes everything and unleashes a chain of events that derails the game and throws every character in it off the course that was programmed for them. Valiant has to try to find a way to be the hero that people need him to be despite everything he knows crumbling around him and he must learn to play the game. Turn based battles, loading screens, puzzles, exploration, downloadable content and sidequests, he must learn it all to save his new existence from a threat born in the wake of the revelation.
